Club History
We're located at North Taieri, beside the Taieri Golf Club, close to the bottom of Three Mile Hill (see the map below for location)
The club was established in the early 1960's and members originally raced on farmer's paddocks, travelled to Invercargill and Christchurch, used Tahuna Park and 'E' shed at the railway yards for events until the late 1970's. At that time eleven enthusiastic club members generously provided the funds to purchase Fulton Hogan's disused gravel pit on Milners Road and so became the club's Founding Members.
From that time until the mid-1980's members worked to establish the raceway; earthworks were undertaken by Mowats, clubrooms from Tamahine Knitwear, and toilets provided by Keep it Clean Ltd. The club officially opened on its present site in 1984.
Upgrade of the facility has continued with replacement of the clubrooms in 1997, track extension in 2004, and re-seal of entire circuit in 2005.
The club is affiliated to KartSport New Zealand Inc. and through this gains affiliation also to the Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK). We enjoy co-operative relations with our neighbouring clubs in Invercargill and Christchurch, and members travel throughout the country to compete.
